Walking, Cycling and Hillwalking

The Glenlivet estate is criss-crossed by an extensive network of waymarked walking and mountain biking trails, while for the more adventurous four of the UK's five highest mountains are within easy reach.

Fishing

There are stocked trout ponds, while for a real highland fishing experience permits are available for beats on the rivers Avon and Livet.

Wildlife and Nature

Off road landrover tours and guided walks are available from a local firm. At the Loch Garten Osprey Centre in summer you will get an excellent view of the nest, while live video pictures are relayed back to the centre.

Skiing and Winter Sports

The Lecht ski area is a short drive from the cottage, with the more extensive Cairngorm ski area only a little further away. For cross-country skiers there are waymarked forest trails in nearby Glenmulliach Forest.

The Whisky Trail

This signposted tourist route will take you on a planned tour of seven distilleries and a cooperage. Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Benromach and Glen Grant are just some of the whiskies you will encounter.

Other Attractions

For a day out with a difference why not take the funicular railway to the top of Cairngorm and enjoy a meal in the summit restaurant? Or for a different railway experience, take a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway, or explore historic Ballindalloch Castle.

Golfers may want to bring their clubs - courses nearby include the exceptional Boat of Garten course, Carrbridge, Craggan 9 hole, Grantown-on-Spey and Nethybridge. Horse riding is available at Tomintoul Riding Centre.

Whatever your pleasure, Glenlivet and the Cairngoms have something to offer everybody. For more details of these activities and other visitor attractions in the area please visit our links page.
